History
The FirstCap Gives Back Program has supported the York community including financial education, scholarships, sponsorships, donation drives, and various volunteer events since 2017. The FirstCap Gives Back Foundation, the charitable arm of First Capital Federal Credit Union was founded in 2024. The mission of the Foundation is to promote the participation and support of community activities, non-profit organizations, school events, and civic and youth organizations.
During our inaugural year in 2024, The FirstCap Gives Back Foundation was proud to spotlight four remarkable organizations that embody compassion, resilience, and community care. From supporting the York County SPCA with donations and proceeds from our Pet Photo Contest, to joining York Habitat for Humanity in building homes for local families, our mission came to life through action and partnership. As York Habitat’s Executive Director, Natasha Kukorlo, shared: “We are deeply honored to be recognized as a FirstCap Gives Back Foundation partner. This support not only uplifts our mission but also affirms the incredible impact we can achieve together. The Foundation’s investment in our program to provide affordable housing opportunities continues to be a vital part of our work, empowering us to reach more lives and build stronger communities. We are profoundly grateful for this partnership.”
We were equally moved to support Chasing the Rainbows, an employee-nominated non-profit offering healing to those navigating infertility, pregnancy, and infant loss. And in the spirit of the holidays, we partnered with the York County Food Bank through a food drive, volunteer day, and financial support to help fight hunger. Each partnership reminded us just how powerful it is when a community comes together with purpose—and we’re grateful to stand alongside those making a difference every day.
